Alessandro Fossi and The Rovereto Wind Orchestra. 

The dynamism of the album is firstly displayed by the refined choice concerning the partition of the three main tracks – Concertissimo per tuba e banda composed by Corrado Maria Saglietti, Concerto grosso op. 27 composed by Brian Richard Earl, and Concerto per tuba e Wind Ensemble composed by Giancarlo Aquilanti – into three movements characterized by an incessant variation of melodies. This alternation emphasizes the low and deep sound of the tuba.

The term ‘bel canto’ refers to the Italian vocal style of the 18th and early 19th centuries which the qualities of which include perfect legato production throughout the range.

The secret to this style, some claim, lays in continuity of tone. Many singers are judged on their ability to pass from one musical phrase to the next with little to no interruption.

With this ideas in mind I started to work on my first recording.

The human voice has always fascinated me and my musicality. What I try to do continuously when I make music is think to my tuba as an extension of me, as a part of me, like the voice; this conception has helped pushing my musicality forward together with the technical limitations of the instrument. I miss only one thing: the words, will be your soul to give words to this music.
